I created a
Youtube Channel to upload the videos of my covers. I called Singing Covers just
like this Blog and my project. The first thing I did was choosing a photo for
my profile and writing the description of the channel.
Then I
uploaded all the videos with a little description of each video and I put the
cover of Love Yourself as a trailer
of the channel and then you can see the four videos at the bottom.
This song is played by the Rap Rock band
Twenty one Pilots. It’s a duo formed by Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun both from
Columbus, Ohio. They started in 2009, before signing with the discographic Fuel
by Ramen they made two independent albums. At the beginning there were Nick Thomas
and Chris Salih but they left in 2011 when Josh Dun got in.
This song is in C and the instruments used
are all electronic like synthesizer. The compass is bynary and it is sung by
more than one person. There are some voice modifications. It starts with two
rounds of chords that are F, Dm, Am. The structure of the song is A,B,C,D,E,F,C,D,G,H,D,I,H
COMPARISON
I have changed the key and made it higher
I haven't sung eighth and twelveth verse leaving it as an instrumental part
The third video, and my favorite one was Love Yourself by Justin Bieber, I performed it in Pati de les Magnolies in Generalitat of Girona
Here I will put the analysis, the fact sheet and the comparision of the original song and the cover just like I did with the others.

ANALYSIS
This song is a tune written in E major
with binary compass. It starts directly with Justin Bieber singing and then an
electric guitar doing the chords is introduced, that lasts for 7 compasses,
this is part A. Then, in the eighth compass it’s introduced a second voice
above the principal one in part B and C, that goes until compass thirty-second.
In the same part the guitar is changed for a bass. This same structure is repeated.
Then there’s a trumpet and voice part with accompaniment of an electric guitar.
Then we repeat the part A of the first structure but then it goes directly to
part C twice, but in the second part some phrases are repeated. Then it ends
suddenly in E major as it started.
A lot of people think that this song was
written thinking of Selena Gomez, his ex-girlfriend as a way of telling her
that he is, finally, over her.
COMPARISON
I have used only a piano while the original is a guitar
I have changed the world girl of the first verse for boy so it fits me better.
The second cover I did was Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, this was the second one because I had to do it when my house was available.
Here I will put the analysis, the fact sheet and the comparision of the original song and the cover just like I did with the other.

ANALYSIS
This song is
played by Ariana Grande an American actress and singer with latin origins. She
started in Broadway as part of the cast of Thirteen. After this she played the
role of Cat Valentine in Victorious a
Nickelodeon serie, very famous. In 2013 she continue playing that character in
a spin-off of I-Carly and Victorious called Sam and Cat. She released her first album called Yours Truly but she reached fame with
her second album called My Everything
and her single Problem.
This song is
in Em, and it only uses three chords, Em, G and C that are repeted thorough all
the song in this order. It strats with a round of the chords and then it starts
with A then the Pre-chorus and then the Chorus, after it it goes directly to
part A’, Pre-chorus and before the chorus a pause, the Chorus and then B twice.
After it a instrumental bridge that lasts to rounds of chords. After it, it
goes directly to the Chorus and B twice and then to part C twice, at the end we
have another round of chords and it ends. The instruments used are bass, electric
guitar and drums. She added lots of different voices in the second half of the
song so it doesn’t sound the same.
COMPARISON
The original song had lots of high voices that I haven't done.
I haven't sung the first Oh yeah
I haven't sung the final part when she says Yeah there's something 'bout you boy
The first cover that I did and I uploaded to Youtube was Seven Years by Lukas Graham. this was the first because it was the easiest video so it was fast to edite.
